At Health Psychology by Calderstones we are interested in supporting academics and clinicians with a range of studies and trials.

After 15 years in academia, we have built up networks, special interests, and retained excellent professional relationships with many researchers across the UK. New & ongoing research topics include:

  • FIbrosis and Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease trial

  • An RCT comparing Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) for Functional Seizures

  • Medicinal trials comparing epilepsy treatments

  • Exploring live music in the emergency departments of children’s hospitals

Alongside NIHR funded research, we support PhD students and Trainee Psychologists to complete their research. Topics include:

  1. Enabling risk-stratified epilepsy care

  2. Exploration of Behcets disease in children

  3. Exploring how social prescribing might work best to support the needs of carers

  4. Parental optimism and psychological wellbeing of parents with children diagnosed with craniosynostosis

  5. Involving people with lived experience of homelessness in research

  6. Women’s experiences of homelessness
